Fabric Medallion Candy Corn

My daughter is in love with all things candy corn this year. The goal was to find a candy corn decoration but nothing really stood out when we went shopping. Then I walked through the Christmas section and found a cute little medallion tree. Perfect! Just goes to show you that you never know where you will find inspiration. So here's the scoop:

Supplies

Broadcloth (orange, white and yellow)
Glue gun
Thread (orange, white and yellow)

Total investment: $8

Directions

1. Cut the fabric into rectangles, making the yellow rectanges the largest and gradually decreasing the size for orange and white.

2. Create a fan with the fabric pieces, tying each one off in the center.

3.  Fan out each side, then glue the edges together to create a medallion. Trim edges as needed.

4. Stack the medallions, gluing each one in the center to the one below it. Once the glue has dried, it's ready to display!

  5. Awesome! My weekly linky party--One Creative Weekend--has gone spooky this week in honor of my thirteenth party. If you haven’t already, I hope you’ll visit "One Creative Weekend" on OneCreativeMommy.com (open every Fri-Wed) and link up this idea and anything else you’d like to share. (You can include non-Halloween posts as well, but feel free to link up as many Halloween-themed posts as you like.) There are two categories—one for Halloween and one for everything else. (Just FYI, the link your pumpkin project from your linkup at TT&J didn't work. In looking for it, I found this great project instead!)
