January Decorations
Happy New Year!
I don't know about you, but Christmas spoils me. For a month, my house is full of color and beautiful decorations and then...nothing. But this year, instead of holding out for Valentine's Day, I added a few January decorations around my home. Nothing overwhelming, just some clean and simple winter decorations to keep the house looking festive.
I used a few silver faux flowers I picked up on clearance at Michael's and made a little arrangement in a glass jar.
The framed 2013 sign was made using scrapbooking paper and numbers.
I like the natural touch the painted pine cones add to my January decorations. I found the pine cones down the road from our house. A touch of Krylon Blue Ocean Breeze and the pine cones were ready.
I made this niche from an old curio cabinet that I picked up at Goodwill for $2. What a perfect little home for my reindeer.
Want to know more? Tutorials are coming soon!
How do you decorate for January?

DeleteLooks lovely! Great colors. Lots of my Christmas decor is is 'wintry' in theme so it works well to stay up into January. I don't take my tree/decor down in a hurry.

Thanks so much My!
DeleteHI Love how you featured the reindeer and the sprays. That shelf you have the reindeer in is such a good back drop for him. Was just at Michaels yesterday but somebody with me kept telling me I didn't need any more of that kind of thing. Bummer. I do too need more.
ReplyDeleteI have several metal reindeer that were black so we spray painted them all silver this year and what a difference. I always hate to put them away, it is still winter (especially around our place, west of Grand Junction, CO) lots of snow and pretty darned cold.
Everything always looks so dreary and empty after the holidays. So glad to see other folks like to have some decorations of winter still up. Just might have to go get couple of my silver reindeer out again. All our holiday decorations are piled in the mud room as the boxes for all are out in our shed, the yard and hill down to the shed is under about 9 inches of snow. Hubs is saying don't think so when I ask him to help me get the boxes up here. Can't blame him really. I'm a new subscriber.
I'm so glad you like winter decorations too! It's still cold (especially in CO) and I just can't bring myself to put up Valentine's Day decorations yet, it's too early. Thanks so much for subscribing!
DeleteThe blue pinecones are awesome! I'm really liking the blue and silver winter decor, the little winter additions are so fun for this time of year. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Taryn!
DeleteSuper cute thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks Beth. I appreciate that:)
DeleteLove these decorations! I am just not one to be able to decorate for Vday the first week of January!
ReplyDeleteGreat decorations! I really like the blue, silver and white theme going on. Very wintery. Dropping in from Make the Scene Monday.
ReplyDeleteHi Katie - I love it! I jumped right into Valentine's Day...but this is making me wish I hadn't! I guess there's always next year :) Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteJust what I looked for! January decorations to fill the emptiness after the chrismas deco's are thrown out:-)
